Being transparent: coaching

About a year ago I took on the challenge of learning to be a life coach through The Coaching Masters. I enjoyed learning this, and it made me see obstacles in a different way. By the way , I highly recommend the courses.

About six to eight months ago I was told I had moderate to severe anxiety and depression. This was an eye opener to me and also answered a lot of questions to why I was feeling the way I did.

I have learnt coping skills in dealing with this through talking to others that have been through the same. What you need to understand that each person will feel things in different ways even though they may have the same as you.

Don’t get me wrong there are times, which are so much less now , I wanted just to get in my car and drive to the middle of no where and just be by myself with no internet and no contact with anyone. I had this feeling even when I had great times and low times. There was times I wanted to drink until I was drunk just to numb the pain of the silence in my head. But I didn’t do this as it would affect others in my life in so many ways and I couldn’t do that to them no matter how strong the urges were.

I am now in a great place and I am turning my coaching skills to assist others that feel or can resonate with what I have written. The best thing that I ever did when being told I had anxiety and depression was to own it and put it out there. The amount of people that showed support and great words was a massive help.

Now I am going forward and I am also going to coach people that will need guidance in daily obstacles relating to mental health like myself.
